Private Sector

The Private Sector plays an important role in providing farmers with inputs, advice and markets for farm products. Private sector businesses such as Dupont-Pioneer are working in collaboration with the Partnership to scale up EverGreen Agriculture systems through their seed dealer networks, and providing insight into the needs and drivers for private sector engagement and support. EverGreen Agriculture Partnership facilitates the establishment of public-private partnerships to further support the scaling up of EverGreen Agriculture. Further more, the private sector also supports the development of markets to enhance the EverGreen Agriculture value chains and develop entrepreneurship opportunities for rural communities. The EverGreen Agriculture Partnership is also working with rural youth to identify incentives that encourage participation in sustainable farming as a beneficial and profit-making business that will improve the rural economies. Models for youth-led entrepreneurial businesses are being explored and links with the private sector and microfinance institutions are currently under development.
