The Potential for Massively Increasing Global Tree Cover on Agricultural Land Through Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR) and Evergreen Agriculture
April 9, 2018 @ 8:00 am - April 12, 2018 @ 5:00 pm
The workshop objectives are to:
- Increase knowledge and understanding of of Conservation International, World Vision and the EverGreen Agriculture Partnership suite of approaches to manage natural resources for sustainable agriculture and livelihoods (e.g., FMNR, evergreen agricultural systems, and climate-smart agriculture, ecosystem-based agriculture, etc.) This includes the range of activities from science-based evidence building/research to field level implementation leveraging farmer led community engagement models around movement creation and massive scaling-up, to monitoring and learning.
- Share best practices and lessons learned for increasing tree cover in agriculture for enhanced livelihoods, in the context of climate change and incorporating watershed management, soil management processes, protection of grasslands, etc.
- Develop a proposal or concept note for fundraising to support future collaboration around nature-based solutions for agricultural landscapes in Africa and other key CI and WV regions.
