This project in Ethiopia is a part of the larger worldwide Sustainable Land Management Programme and is being implemented jointly with a number of international donors such as World Bank, Finland, the EU and Germany. It has been in progress from 2005 and runs until 2014.
Working with its partner GFA Consulting Group / COMO GIZ was commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) to strengthen the competences, resources and capacity development of the Ethiopian Ministry of Agriculture, its decentralised structures and small-scale farmers. In addition, the project’s current focus is on providing advisory services to the national SLM programme which involves finding ways of improving the necessary conditions for its broad-based implementation.
